A: Take it from a Volvo Tech...No! To many problems with that year model. Transmission problems... Door panel problems... Wears brake pads prematurely... And the list goes on....

Q: 2000 Volvo C70 soft top?
My soft top stopped working today and I can not find anything anywhere with any ideas on why. It will go up and down but will not lock the cover down, so then the rear of the top will not close either. I found that the latches were engaged insted of open so I used the manual tool that came with the car and opened the latches, but it still will not PULL the rear cover tight so that the rear of the top can close. HELP ANYONE!!!

A: Could be that the brakets are out of adjustment some how or it could be an electrical problem that makes the latches not open properly. I would definatly have it checked at a volvo dealer before messing with it too much which could lead to a bigger problem and more money in the long run.

Q: Opinon on 2000 - 2004 Volvo C70 Convertible?
I am trying to purchase a Volvo C70 for my girlfriend. problem is that I have heard these class of Volvo develops transmission problem around 60-75k miles. does anyone have a C70? how long have you had it? have you had any problem with it? if so what type? how much did it cost you to fix it? is C70 HT better than C70 LT? would you recommend this car to anyone? any other info that you can give me? Thanks Z

A: No Way! That is not true. Volvo's transmissions has never given me any problems. My last Volvo was a S80 and it had 159,000 miles on it with no major problems. I also had a convertible S70 and it was a wonderful safe car. I'm currently looking for another Volvo. The car outlast itself. Both of my cars was wrecked. My husband wrecked my S70 and my son wrecked my S80.

Q: My 2000 C70 convertible glass top window's adhesive has come loose and Volvo says thats the only way.?
My 2000 C70 convertible glass top window's adhesive has come loose and the dealership says that the only way to fix it is to purchase a WHOLE new top for over $3K. Has anyone had this situation and gone another route to fix it???

A: well if you still want the wanranty to be good you have to do it with the leadership but if you dont care about it anymore you can go to places where you can costumize you car and youll check prizes with them

Q: an aftermarket dvd player wont work in my car?
i have a 2000 volvo c70 with the standard cd player in it, it is a 3-CD Pro-Logic system SC 901, and i bought a dvd player to go in there instead, the one i bought was the ripspeed DV710 from halfords, now they have fitted it for me and it gets power but no sound comes from it, they have said to me that its because of the pro-logic system in the car, i contacted volvo who said that they can't help me as the dvd player is an aftermarket one, now holfods explained that i would need some sort of lead or adaptor to get this all to work properly but are unable to get me one, does anyone know of where i can find such a thing? thanks in advance guys and gals

A: Hi there, from my own experience in the past, when hit with a cable problem, I have contacted a company called auto leads and they seem to be able to source/make any cable req'd as long as they have radio/cd/dvd player manufacturers number and model numbers. Cheers
