Q: Would you survive a 60 mph crash head on with a big rig in a 2008 Volvo S80?
Sorry, not 60 mph but 70 mph if 100 mph?

A: @60mph (or 70mph) in a head-on crash (we have to assume the other vehicle is traveling in the on-coming direction at the same speed) the energy of (effectively) 120mph (or 140mph) has to be dissipated. Because of the mass difference, I *think*, barring a stroke of luck (or an act of God), and you somehow bounce off (but being, as you say "head-on") you had better hope your life insurance is paid up.

Q: what would you choose if you only can afford those 3, audi a4, or bmw 328i, or 2008 volvo s80, would u chose ?
i hope you have some knowledge..i just could not make up my mind. bmw offering 0.9% on 2008 models. they also say i pay nothing other than gaz..all coverd under maintance, volovo, theyare giving a good price on 2008 s80..same payment for bmw 328i 20008. audi A4, just not as amny as 3 series i am puzzeld...any feed back willhelpme decide... thank you so so much...

A: You not only have to look at the new price but consider depreciation too,and for me the only car would be the BMW 328i.Great car and low depreciation.Audi is a good car but not as prestige as a BMW and values drop a little quicker.Volvo is a good car but loses quite heavily with depreciation especially the S80

Q: Should I get a 2008 Honda Accord EX-L or 2007 Volvo S80?
I really REALLY liked the VOLVO S80 with 11k miles but I also REALLY like the new Honda Accord EX-L (loaded) brand new. Price is identical. The Volvo actually still has 4-years 40k mile bumper to bumper warranty left whilst the Honda has 3-year 36k miles new.

A: I prefer the looks and reliability and ride of the Honda Accord, but Honda is doing well right now, while Volvo is not selling well. If you want to help the Volvo brand, buy the S80/

A: Lexus is the most reliable, and chepeast to manintain out of them all, but it lacks on luxury compared to the others. The Audi is my favorite- you'll get a great deal on it b/c the body style changed for 09. Its fast, fun to drive, high quality, and comfortable. The BMW is a good car, but its overrated, expensive to maintain, and due for a body change in my mind. The Volvo is great for safety, but it's expensive to maintain, and it's not the most reliable out of the bunch.

I asked myself the same question about fuddy duddy..

A: I like it. But I guess it's because I have a volvo myself ('04 s60 2.5t.). Volvos are the most reliable and safe cars on the road. I've only had to take mine to the shop once but it was because my psycho neighbor poured SAND into my gas tank. And sadly, I've ignored the "required servicing" and it's doing just fine. I'm 10k+ miles overdue.. lol. The only draw back to the car is if your battery dies/gets disconnected, your car is screwed. You will have to take it in and have everything reprogrammed (seats, keys, navigation, ect) but that's probably not going to happen unless you mess around under the hood. The new s80 is really good looking in person though, I haven't seen many old people driving the new ones. I'd give it an 8 for reliability and 9 on looks.

Q: We are considering trading our 1998 Volvo V70 AWD, opinions on best replacement?
We have narrowed our choices to the following: 2008 V70 wagon, 2008 S60 or a 2006 S80 2.5T. The S80 was driven for 22 months and has 20,000 miles and full warranty, very clean and priced at a negotiable $25,000. Any thoughts, help, opinions, etc would be greatly appreciated....thanks! Not a lemon, but needs $$$ to get "back in shape". I'm concerned that we've reached the point that if rear ended it would be totaled and all the $$$ for repairs would be wasted.

A: The V70 probably has the new 3.2L engine in it. So far it seems to be a good engine but is fairly new, so time will tell. It is a nice car. S60 is by far one of the best cars nowadays that Volvo makes. I would put the S80 on the bottom of the list. They seem to be a bit problem prone. The early models had transmission problems. Most were fixed by the later years (like the one your are looking) but you just never know. I would say the S60 would be good for you if you want a sedan and the V70 if you really need a wagon.
