Q: Volvo XC90???
Hi
I have a old version (the one which doesn't have square headlights etc at the back) Volvo XC90 reg '53. I have been experiencing very short amounts of time between a service and when the front tyres become bald and are illegal for quite some time. It takes around 4000-5000 miles for them to run down. Do you have the same problem as I do??
A: in addition to proper alignment the tires need to be all the same size [meaning that replacing only one or two tires at a time] is not recommended, this is hard on the all wheel drive system and accelerates the wear of all the tires [if not all at the same point of wear they try to turn at different speeds, scrubbing the tire with the least traction] over any given surface
note when buying tires for this check serial numbers on the side of the tire for sequential numbering [they came out of the same mould] this is an old school jeep tip from the day's of quadra-trac [no actual center differential] a totally different system with similar characteristics
Q: are parts for a Volvo xc90 alot more expensive then parts for a nissan murano?
i want to buy a new car and i dont know if parts for the volvo xc90 which is the suv is alot more expensive than the parts of a nissan murano or if there the same or watever. thanks for the help.
A: Parts for Japanese cars are typically the most expensive, Volvo parts are about the same as an American car.
Q: Where can I find a good Cat Back exhaust and cold air for the 3.2 Volvo XC90?
I am looking for a unexpensive catback exhaust for my 3.2 Volvo XC90, and a cold air intake.
A: check with Volvo Motorsports Division
Q: Do they make the Volvo XC90 with a navigation system?
I saw an XC90 at the auto show (Chicago) with a navigation system where that speaker thingy on that dash usually is. But anyways, I've never seen one with that since.

Q: should i get the Volvo XC90 or the Hummer H3?
I went car shopping with my parents and i like the Volvo xc90 and the hummer h3. both which are two completely different styles. this will be my first car. which one should i get?
A: Two terrible first cars for a new driver.
Get something smaller, cheaper and less gas guzzling.
Q: Display screen and radio going in and out on Volvo XC90, receiveing error messages on display, what is wrong?
It started out that my radio shut off, than the odometers and display screen shut off. They come back intermitantly, however now I am receiving every error message in the book, i.e., airbags need service, brake failure, antiskid device needs service. This is obviously a problem with the cars computer system, but does nayone have any idea what could be wrong with the car? Car is currently at the Volvo dealer and they are puzzeled.
A: Computer module malfunctions. Time to go off to the Volvo dealer again and tell them they may need to contact the factory rep on this one since they cannot figure it out.
Q: I am thinking of buying a new Volvo XC90 is this a good chose for a family safe car?
I need to know if this is a good safe family car plz!
A: The Volvo has better safety features than any SUV in the market. It's also the only SUV to satisfy ULEV II environmental rating. Green and safe, you can't go wrong.
Q: What Child CaR Seats Fit A Volvo XC90?
My Dad has a Volvo XC90. He took it to mothercare with my Britax Freeway Childs Seat and was told that NO car seat can be fitted in an XC 90 and ONLY ISOFIX seats can can be used in his car! Is this wrong and does anyone own an XC90 and have a regular car seat installed? I need to know if the Mothercare guy was fibbing and the name of the car seats that have been sucessfully fitted in the XC90! Thanks guys, look fwd to your responses!
A: I'm using a Peg Perego ISOFIX infant seat not with the ISOFIX latches but with the seat belt, which is holding the seat well. In fact, the manual specifically okays this alternate procedure, because the seat belts are designed to be able to lock (by tugging at it after positioning, I believe.) Mothercare is trying to rip you off.
Q: Does anyone else have a problem with mice in their Volvo XC90?
Mice have been getting into our Volvo XC90 for several months now. They get in at roughly the same time every evening (the car alarm is triggered) and seem to be gone again in the morning. I have caught 3 of these field mice in 'live traps' but am beginning to lose patience and require more effective measures. The car has been investigated by the Volvo garage but they say they have no idea how they are getting in. I have tried moth balls and sealing up the air vents on the inside of the car but nothing seems to deter them! I have to clean mouse droppings off my 3 year old's car seat every morning and they are chewing through the seat belt clasps etc. So far the engine seems to be untouched! I would love to know if anybody else has ever heard of this problem and if anyone has any idea how they are getting into the car.
A: Put a box of D-con Mouse Pruf under the front seat. Mice love the stuff, and they eat it and go away to die.
You can find it at most grocery and hardware stores!

has a picture of the display!
I had an office that was overrun with mice. I put out 4 boxes of D-con, and after just one day, I never saw another mouse!
If you use live traps, the mice will come right back as soon as you release then!
Q: What is the code to reset the message in my 2007 Volvo XC90 that reminds me I need regular service oil change?
Dealer wanted $250 to change oil ( including $100+ to replace $12.00 cabin air filter)
A: While it is correct that the message will go away after a few minutes of driving, it will re-appear every time you restart your car until you bring it into your local Volvo dealer or authorized mechanic to have it reset. It WILL NOT just go away eventually. Every once in a while, one of my technicians will forget to reset this light, especially if the light had not come on yet. In this instance, I just have the customer come back in and have the message reset. It takes all of 5 minutes to do so.
Enjoy your beautiful XC90!!
You cannot reset the code. It must be done at the dealer. Any attempt at doing it yourself MAY VOID THE WARRANTY!
I only tell you this so that doesn't happen!!!
Where do you live??? First off, you do not need to go to the dealer to have your oil changed. Unlike BMW and Mercedes, you can got o Jiffy Lube and it will cost you about $25 bucks. They may not be able to reset the code for you but any self respecting dealer would not charge you to do that. If you bought your XC90 from that dealer, I would place a complaint with the GM if they do.
I am a dealer and we charge $39.99 for an Oil Change but that includes a whole safety check and a log into the Volvo HQ for them to do a system check.
I am very curious why some idiot has given me a thumbs down when all I did was answer truthfully to this question?

Q: does anyone know the name of the song being played on the new volvo XC90 suv commercial?
it's light rock or folk, starts off saying "lost in the day", and ending "that's why I adore you"
A: According to the pages listed below, Volvo is using a song that you can't get {commercially}. They said it is called 'I Adore You' {by Melpo Mene}. It does have a link to the MySpace page, where it says you can listen to the song. It did give the following lyrics {which fit what you said}:
lost in a daydream of blue and i feel so free
and then it’s like i fall from the sky everything i see is you
oh i adore you
Q: Is a Volvo xc90 a good suv?
I want a midsized suv like the Volvo xc90 that gets decent mpg.Is the XC90 a good suv?Are they reliable? Thanks.
A: yes! I really love my XC90. For an SUV, it gets average gas mileage. Its heavier than the equivalent Asian models so the mpg is not as good; but it is a very solid vehicle.
Q: How do I change the rear direction light on a 2004 volvo xc90?
A: On an XC90 the whole tail light assembly comes out.
You need a 10 millimeter socket, a ratchet, and a 6 inch extension. You remove a plastic access panel to get to 3 10 millimeter bolts. After you remove these 3 bolts the whole light assembly comes out.
You pick the bulb to replace. Re install the tail light.
Q: Calling all Volvo XC90 owners? I have a question?
I'm thinking about purchasing a 2003 Volvo XC90. How is your experience with this SUV? Is there any problem I should be aware of before hand? Also, is there any recalls I should know of? Thanks in advance!
A: general rule of thumb is don't buy the first year of any model vehicle. when the s80 came out in '99, it had tons of problems. now its a great car once all the issue were worked out. some would apply for for the XC90.
on the other side of the coin, the xc90 you are looking at may have all the recalls done. give a volvo dealer a call and have the vin # handy. they can tell you if there are any open recalls in just a few minutes.
the xc90 had a recall that covered a variety of issues. i think the volvo number if "recall 157".
good luck and hope this helps.
